We had one upset and a lop sided miss in last Saturday’s predictions. Old Dominion lost in a shocker at Southern Miss and Rice got pounded in Denton, Texas.
Week 2 Results: 5-2
Middle Tennessee @ Charlotte
Charlotte is due for an upset. I’m sure you’ve heard that before, but hear me out. The 49ers lost in overtime in Ruston, La., but big man Uchebo is coming along nicely. His size will give the Blue Raiders trouble. Even with Potts returning, MTSU has looked stagnant on offensive of late.
Southern Miss @ FAU
I’m not ready to say the Golden Eagles are going to win a game on the road. FAU let one slip away at Diddle on Saturday but won’t do the same at home.
La Tech @ FIU
The Bulldogs struggled with Charlotte’s size and I think we’ll see more of the same against Diaz, the conference’s leading shot blocker. Diaz will have to stay out of foul trouble though. Konkol we’ll be sending his guards and forwards in waves at the big man.
Marshall @ North Texas
The Mean Green had been solid at home in their last four games in Denton, Texas. Marshall is 0-5 on the road this year. I believe the Herd are putting things together, but it’s a little early in the season for me to give them the road nod.
WKU @ Rice
Like Marshall, WKU hasn’t won on the road this year. WKU Head Coach Ray Harper’s seat is going to get a bit hotter after they drop what I think will be a very close game in Houston.
CUSA GAME OF THE WEEK
UAB @ ODU
The nation’s third longest win streak against the nation’s fourth longest home win streak. The Blazer’s have proven they can win on the road with a 3-1 record going into tomorrow’s game. ODU like’s to keep the score low (66.6 PPG) and UAB has averaged 95 points over the past two games. The Blazers’ depth will overwhelm the Monarchs and lead them to their 11th straight win.
