BIRMINGHAM — Steve Mitchell, Carldell “Squeaky” Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Nick Norton, and now…Zack Bryant. Late Tuesday night the Providence School point guard from Jacksonville, Fa. committed to coach Rob Ehsan and UAB.

Bryant has had quite the summer with his AAU team the Jacksonville Magic garnering the attention of many schools and adding some substantial offers to an already impressive list. Offers from Georgia and Western Kentucky in July put the pressure on UAB, Iowa St., and Clemson who were believed to be the front runners.

News broke last Friday, August 5 that Bryant would be taking his first official visit to UAB over the weekend. From the time it was reported Bryant would be visiting until 9:56 p.m. on Tuesday night, it was all quiet from Bryant and recruiting experts on social media. Unbeknownst to all, behind the scenes Coach Ehsan and staff were securing their first commit as a staff, and what could be the next great Blazer point guard.
