Vegas has Ole Miss as a 6.5 point favorite tonight. The Blue Raiders will have the clear advantage in the paint with Jacorey Williams, Brandon Walters, and Reggie Upshaw.

The Rebels are led by New Mexico junior transfer shooting guard Cullen Neal and junior point guard Deandre Burnett. Burnett is averaging more than 23 a game highlighted by a 41 point performance against Oral Roberts.

Vegas isn’t high on the Bulldogs as they’re a 13 point dog on the road tonight. Cal’s starting 7-foot-2 center Kameron Rooks will be out for a couple weeks which might give Tech some breathing room in the paint for McCree and Sherman.

Six-foot-11 Ivan Raab is the star and likely lottery pick for the Bears and there’s little chance the Bulldogs will have an answer for him unless he gets in to foul trouble. La Tech needs to have an extremely efficient offensive night and attempt to get Raab in to foul trouble.

Of the trio of high profile games for the conference Saturday, I believe a win over Texas Tech would hold the most weight while UAB beating Auburn is the most probable.

You could argue a UAB win wouldn’t be much of an upset or even tilt the scale of the national perception. I’d agree with that.

Charlotte might possibly be favored against a very mediocre Oregon State team. If the 49er guards are hot there’s no reason they can’t steal this win from the Pac 12.

Circling back to Rice, my main concern is their ability to keep the Red Raider bigs out of the paint. In all likelihood the Owls will need to be on fire from behind the arc to get the upset in Lubbock. With Egor Koulechov and Marcus Evans I’m not counting them out.
