“Making no mistakes is what establishes the certainty of victory, for it means conquering an enemy that is already defeated.” – Sun Tzu, The Art of War

For the first time in either program’s history, Miles College will take a 10 minute drive to UAB for 40 minutes of holiday hoops.

Miles is a Division II program and member of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Miles is 2-7 overall with their marquee win coming at home against then ranked #16 West Georgia (DII).

3 Things To Watch For

  1. Dirk Williams – It appears his nagging foot injury may be behind him going into conference play. One would think this being the seniors last semester of basketball their won’t be any shortage of motivation. He’ll need to be a consistent double-digit scoring player form here on out.
  2. Defense – Wednesday night should be a great opportunity for UAB to fine tune their defense. If they play up to their potential, Miles won’t break 40. I’d imagine the staff has some new schemes to debut in conference play that will likely get a test drive in this game.
  3. Nate Darling – I never would have predicted the freshman would have seen the minutes he got in non-conference play before the season started. Now is the time it could really pay off for the Blazers. I’m not sure how much time he’ll see Sunday against a top 30 MTSU defensive team, but against Miles he should be logging some more valuable miles.
