The senior forward joins William Lee on the preseason Conference USA team announced by the league this morning. Big things are in order when your starting front court garners awards like these. Cokley saw a dip in his statistics last season largely due to the roster shake up of Nick Norton’s absence, but it’s clear now we aren’t the only people who expect a big season from the Savannah native.

As a freshman Cokley played exclusively off the bench averaging 7.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game, while averaging 17.2 minutes per game.

He followed that up with a very impressive sophomore campaign in which he averaged 13.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game in 22.1 minutes.

Last year’s numbers where down a bit as he averaged 12.1 points and 6 rebounds per game in 21.7 minutes per game. But those are still very respectable numbers for the big guy.

UAB now holds two of the nine preseason conference spots.
