For the second week in a row the Blazers are on the road looking to improve their bowl resume but a trip to The Swamp stands in their way.

UAB is no longer in contention for the Conference USA Western division title but there is still plenty to play for. Every win from here on out will improve UAB’s bowl game location and opponent. Not to mention, beating a SEC opponent and setting a new single season win total record would be pretty sweet.

  • Stay Healthy: I suppose this doesn’t exactly result in a victory for UAB but we need to play it safe against Florida if things get out of hand. The Gators aren’t really built to be explosive offensively and I don’t see this being a high scoring game so this may be an irrelevant point. However if we come out flat and the game gets away from us let’s get out of Gainesville with all of our limbs. I’m for getting Brown going early especially if it’s effective but I don’t want him running it 30 times if the game isn’t close.
  • Shake It Up: We don’t have anything to lose in this game so let’s go out and mix in some dynamic pass wrinkles and take some chances. Someone slip some bourbon in Les’ morning coffee to loosen the old man up. Gator is delicious. Let’s throw in an onside kick for good measure too.
  • Stick To Fundamentals : Tevin Crews mentioned in his press conference interview this week that he and his defense have to continue to stick to their fundamentals when things might not go their way especially late in the season. Florida is going to be deliberate and direct in the running game I believe considering they haven’t had much success through the air this season. They have injuries all over the place and shouldn’t throw out anything too complicated for our defense. If we play up to our potential we can contain their offense.
  • Have Fun: It’s The Swamp in November for crying out loud. Let’s hit em’ in the mouth and take advantage of the opportunities they give us. No one expected us to be here so let’s keep shocking the nation.
